Central Processing Unit
The CPU is a microchip that is installed on a motherboard and acts as the computer's brain - performing calculations and coordinating the hardware components.
The speed of the CPU is measured in hertz and refers to the number of cycles per second that the CPU runs at.

Control Unit
The control unit is part of the central processing unit (CPU). It controls the flow of information through the processor, and coordinates the activities of the other units within it.
It is also referred as "brain within the brain", as it controls what happens inside the processor, which controls the rest of the PC.

Another name for comparing two numbers is a 'logical operation'.

A processor register is a quickly accessible location available to a computer's central processing unit (CPU).
Registers usually consist of a small amount of fast storage, although some registers have specific hardware functions, and may be read-only or write-only
